Bihar Jeevika (BRLPS) Office Assistant — Typing Test

Guidelines & Rules for Bihar Jeevika Office Assistant Skill Test

1. Total duration of the actual typing test is 10 minutes per language (English & Hindi both tests sequential with rest break).
2. Qualifying Speed Requirements:
   • English Typing: Minimum 30 WPM (Net Speed) — minimum 300 words in 10 minutes (approx. 1500 key depressions).
   • Hindi Typing: Minimum 25 WPM (Net Speed) — minimum 250 words in 10 minutes (approx. 1250 key depressions).
3. Hindi Font & Layout Specification: Hindi typing test will be strictly conducted on Mangal Unicode Font using the official Remington Gail (Keyboard Layout).
4. Word Highlighting & Display: Blind typing interface (no live highlight and no red underline) on standard assessment engine. The master passage appears on top and typing area is at the bottom.
5. Backspace Policy: Fully allowed/enabled throughout the test session to edit mistakes within the typed text.
6. Error Evaluation & Mistakes:
   • Full Mistake (1 Error): Omission of word, substitution of wrong word, addition of unnecessary word, severe spelling error.
   • Half Mistake (0.5 Error): Spacing errors, capitalization/case errors (in English), punctuation errors.
7. Error Exemption & Accuracy: Maximum allowed error limit is 1.5% to 2%. Minimum 90% - 95% Net Accuracy is mandatory to qualify.
8. Net Speed Formula: Net WPM = [Gross Words - (Full Mistakes + Half Mistakes × 0.5)] / 10 Minutes.
9. Candidates must complete the test in one sitting — do not refresh or close the window mid-test.
