Guidelines & Rules for BSSC Parichari / Office Attendant Skill Test

1. Total duration of the actual typing test is 10 minutes per language (English / Hindi).
2. Qualifying Speed Requirement:
   • English: Minimum 35 WPM (Net Speed) — 350 words in 10 minutes (approx. 1750 key depressions).
   • Hindi: Minimum 30 WPM (Net Speed) — 300 words in 10 minutes (approx. 1500 key depressions).
3. Hindi Font & Layout: The test will be conducted on Mangal Unicode Font using the standard Remington Gail (Keyboard Layout).
4. Word Highlighting & Display: Blind typing interface (no live red underline or word highlight) in standard TCS iON interface. Screen displays passage on top and blank typing box below.
5. Backspace Policy: Fully allowed/enabled throughout the test session to edit mistakes within the passage.
6. Error Evaluation & Mistakes:
   • Full Mistake (1 Error): Omission of word, substitution of wrong word, addition of unnecessary word, spelling error.
   • Half Mistake (0.5 Error): Spacing errors, capitalization/case errors (in English), punctuation errors.
7. Error Limit & Accuracy: Maximum allowed error limit is 1.5% to 5% (based on category rules). Minimum 95% Net Accuracy is compulsory.
8. Net Speed Formula: Net WPM = [Gross Words - (Full Mistakes + Half Mistakes × 0.5)] / 10 Minutes.
9. Candidates must complete the test in one sitting — do not refresh or close the window mid-test.
